Checking into Samphire Rottnest

Your room will be ready to welcome you from 3pm onwards. To check in, we will need to verify your booking. We recommend having a form of identification ready for our friendly team to verify your booking and help expedite the check in process.

If you’d like to check into your room earlier, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your request. Please note we cannot guarantee early check-in.

If you arrive before 3pm and your room is not ready, we invite you leave your bags with our reception team, who will keep your belongings safe while you begin your adventure on Rottnest Island. You are also more than welcome to use our resort facilities, including the hotel pool, while you await check in.

Checking out from Samphire Rottnest

Saying goodbye to our beautiful island is never easy, but we do require that you depart your room by 11am on your check-out date. If you’re hoping to sleep in a little longer, you are more than welcome to request a late check out, please note this is subject to availability.

If you are departing the island by ferry and have pre-booked your baggage transfer from our hotel to your ferry, we ask that you please communicate your departing ferry time to our team at reception.

How do I get from the ferry to Samphire Rottnest?

Your arrival to Samphire awaits with a short and scenic 200-metre walk. When you arrive at the ferry jetty, take a left turn towards Isola Bar e Cibo and continue walking along the coast until you arrive at our reception building.

Rottnest Island is predominantly vehicle-free and due to Rottnest Island Authority Regulations, we are only able to provide guest vehicle transfers for guests with a valid medical certificate. Most guests enjoy exploring the island as they make their way to our hotel on foot, however if require a transfer arranged, please contact one of our reservations team who will be able to assist you further.

If you are bringing large luggage or items with you, we recommend you take advantage of the island’s ferry-to-room luggage services. Simply notify your ferry provider of your stay with us when you check in your bag, and your luggage will be delivered to your room within 4 hours. If you plan on exploring the island while you await check-in, we recommend packing a separate day bag with your essential.

What do I do with my luggage to and from Samphire Rottnest?

If you are carrying smaller luggage items, you are welcome to bring them with you on foot. However, if you are bringing larger luggage items with you, we recommend you take advantage of the island’s ferry-to-room luggage services.

To access the island’s ferry-to-room luggage service, you must pre-book with your ferry provider. Simply add on the luggage delivery option when purchasing your ferry ticket.

Each ferry operator has its dedicated process for luggage boarding. We recommend confirming the collection of luggage tags and process for loading with your chosen ferry provider, ahead of your departure.

If you are taking advantage of the ferry-to-room luggage service, your luggage will be delivered to your room within 4 hours of your ferry’s arrival. If you plan on exploring the island while you await check-in, we recommend packing a separate day bag with your essentials.

If you have booked the ferry-to-room luggage service for your return ferry, you will need to ensure your ferry operator’s luggage labels are clearly displayed on each piece of luggage for your return journey and then placed outside of your room on the date of your in line with the below departure times:

7AM – 9.30AM 6AM
10AM – 12.30PM 8AM
After 12.30PM 11AM

Samphire Rottnest is unable to deliver luggage to your ferry and therefore we strongly recommend you arrange your ferry-to-room service with your ferry provider ahead of your departure.

What other facilities are included in the room?

Our meticulously designed rooms at Samphire Rottnest have been prepared for the ultimate island escape. In your room you’ll find everything you need to make your stay a comfortable one, a bar fridge, kettle, base utensils, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, 15” room safe, Nespresso Coffee machine, mini-bar, smart television and Bluetooth soundbar.

If you require anything else, please contact a friendly member from our reception team who will do their best to assist you.

Where can I get or store my bike at Samphire Rottnest?

Many of our guests choose to explore Rottnest Island on bike. To hire a bike, we encourage you to take a short stroll to Pedal and Flipper located just behind the hotel to select your own steed.

Our hotel also has dedicated bike racks for guests, which are located in the courtyard on the south side of the property. If you are unsure, please ask a friendly member of our team.

How can I make a group room booking at Samphire Rottnest?

Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, or a special event, we have a range of options for groups to enjoy Samphire Rottnest together.

Currently, our website can process up to 8 rooms per transaction. If you’re looking to make a group booking for more than 8 rooms, please contact rdm@samphirerottnest.com.au to check our hotel availability and discuss group pricing.

Do you host special events?

Special events are made even more memorable when held within our picturesque spaces at Samphire Rottnest.

Please note, due to our high demand in summer, Samphire Rottnest is unable to host large events such as weddings and engagements through December to March. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Can I redeem my Gift Voucher through the website?

Our gift cards are currently unable to be used online. If you have received a Samphire Rottnest gift voucher that you’d like to use, please contact our reservations team who will be able to make your booking for you, via: reservations@samphirerottnest.com.au
